Eight baby possums were released into the woods of a Coral Springs park thanks to a volunteer with the Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital.
Bruce Smith, resident of Coral Springs since 1971 and a three-year volunteer with the SNCWH released them into the woods at Sherwood Forest Park on Saturday afternoon. The three month-old possums became orphaned after their mother was hit by a car and then the SNCWH fed and took care of them until they were old enough to be released.
