Ramblewood Middle School in Coral Springs was honored with an Exceeding Expectations in Student Achievement award in a conference last weekend in Orlando.
As one of four schools selected from Broward County, the award is given to Title I schools that are exceeding expectations by showing significant progress in improving student achievement.
Progress is measured after schools are visited by a team of East Coast Technical Assistance Center, or ECTAC, members for interviews and classroom observations. After careful review of criteria consisting of FCAT and Florida State Assessment scores, schools are identified as either a finalist or an award school. Ramblewood Middle was honored as an award school and Principal Cory Smith presented at the conference as well as accepted the award.
“It’s been an honor and privilege to attend and present at the Exceeding Expectations conference in Orlando as an award school, said Ramblewood Middle School Literary Coach Debra Mandel.
The conference provides the opportunity for award schools and attendees to celebrate and share successful strategies. Including a general session, breakout sessions where schools present their strategies, networking opportunities and an awards banquet where award schools are recognized for their accomplishments.
Said Principal Smith, “This award is a true testament to the hard work of our phenomenal staff, students, and families at Ramblewood Middle School.”
