In the Aftermath of George Floyd’s Death, Dozens Protest in Coral Springs

After the murder of George Floyd by a Minnesota police officer, a pair of cousins in Coral Springs were motivated to plan a protest.
Mahek Manjiani, 19, and Shayan Shivji, 17, Coral Springs residents who are both Pakistani-Americans, organized the peaceful protest on Tuesday afternoon.
CBS4 caught the dozens of protesters along University Drive and Sample Road who join a nationwide protest following the death of George Floyd, a Minneapolis man who died while in police custody.
“Of course all lives matter, but our primary focus is Black Lives Matter,” said Shivji, who is a senior at Coral Springs Charter School.
Both residents say the protest is aimed to support the black community at large, but that it was sparked by Floyd’s murder.
