The weather has played a major factor early in the high school golf season, but several local teams have still managed to compete.
J.P. Taravella’s Fabian Harris recently finished first in a match that also featured Coral Glades. Grayson Miller and Ryan Magarity also placed in the top 10 for the Trojans. Tyler Adron led Coral Glades, placing third with a 44. Gavin Brown finished fifth with a 46, while Isaac Shield shot a 48 to place sixth.
Shannon Glynn, the lone golfer on the Coral Glades girls team, has played two matches this season. She opened with a 37, one over par, before shooting a three-under-par 33 in her second match.
Coral Springs Charter’s scheduled match against Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Wednesday was canceled because of the weather. The Panthers also nearly completed the TKA Boys Invitational before play was stopped.
Liam Johnson was three under par and in fourth place through 14 holes. Hudson Fe and Kolton Viveros were both one under par when play ended.
