Coral Springs Police busted a Broward County Public Schools assistant principal for child neglect earlier this month, authorities said.
On Friday, July 12, detectives from the police department’s Special Victims Unit filed an arrest warrant for Robert John Herzog, 38, of NW 5th Street, who police said is an assistant principal at Cooper City High School — and a resident of Coral Springs — on one count of child neglect, police said.
Herzog turned himself in to the Broward Sheriff’s Office on July 20 and was booked into the Main Jail.
In a press release issued Thursday, police said that an extensive criminal investigation by the SVU Unit revealed Herzog “neglected to provide relevant medical information which resulted in serious physical injury and prolonged suffering to the victim.”
Additional details were not immediately made public.
Herzog has been arrested by Coral Springs Police before as part of an unrelated case.
