The Rotary Club of Coral Springs Donates Over $122,000 to the Community Garden. {City of Coral Springs.}

The Coral Springs Community Garden is set to receive a new on-site pavilion, thanks to a donation of over $122,000 from the Rotary Club of Coral Springs.
The donation was presented at a City Commission Meeting in March in conjunction with P&H Interiors and the Levitetz Family Foundation.
The funds will be used to construct a new pavilion on the garden site that can be used for shade, picnics, gatherings, and more. The donation is being made in memory of Kevin Connor Jr., a farmer and son of P&H Interiors founder Susan Connor, who tragically passed away in a farming accident in 2021.
The president of the Rotary Club of Coral Springs, Stef Verleysen, expressed his pride in the project and its potential impact.
“The continued development of this green space, an expanded partnership with the City of Coral Springs, and permanent structure will impact many lives for years to come,” said Verleysen.
Roy Gold, former Coral Springs Mayor and city volunteer, created the community garden in Coral Springs and is heavily involved with the Garden. He met Verleysen while participating in a garden cleanup event in December 2021. He brought up the idea of raising money from the City to significantly improve the volunteer group.
Verleysen then offered the Rotary Club’s support to rally private and public support for the Garden.
Gold expressed his satisfaction with Rotary’s involvement. “They have really stepped up, and with the additional support we’ve received, we’ll be able to create a positive environmental, sustainable impact for years to come.”
The Rotary Club has been working with city staff on future upkeep, maintenance, and improvements for the Garden, including support for ongoing development, fence installation, clean drinking water, greater accessibility, and more.
The Coral Springs Community Garden is a volunteer-run organization that provides a green space for residents to grow their own organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
