Adelman Launches Campaign for Coral Springs City Commission Seat 4 Ahead of 2026 Election

Attorney and longtime community advocate Jeffrey “Jeff” Adelman held his kick-off campaign for City Commissioner, Seat 4 on Thursday at the Country Club of Coral Springs.

The seat, currently filled by Joshua Simmons, will be open in 2026 due to term limits.

Originally from Chicago, Adelman, a Board-Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with over two decades of practice, has lived in Coral Springs for more than 40 years.

“Coral Springs has been amazing to me and my family, and I’ve raised two wonderful sons right here in Coral Springs.” Now is the time to give back, he said.

Communication is important to him; he suggested the city get a podcast for emergencies like hurricanes.

“I’m a communications major, so I’m very excited about things like that. Probably a little too excited.”

He said the issue most people bring up to him is the four corners — Sample Road and University.

“I don’t know anybody who is happy about the first building that went up.”

He explained there were a lot of circumstances that went into creating it. But in the future, there’s a way to shape the different construction projects that are going to happen.

“Obviously, if they comply with zoning, we can’t do anything about that. But there are incentives we can give that make those projects more palatable to people here in Coral Springs and something you can be proud of.”

We are blessed to have an amazing police and fire department, he said. “We are the envy of so many cities, and I want to make sure that continues.”

On taxes: He said nobody wants to pay more taxes. Everything is getting more expensive, and it is his goal not to raise taxes.

“There are other things we can do; we can get creative. We’re all getting pinched right now, and I don’t want that to hurt people any further.”

Almost every morning, Adelman likes to go on walks to North Community Park or Betti Stradling Park to collect his thoughts before he starts the day.

“There are 49 parks in Coral Springs. That’s one of the most important things we have in this city, and I want to make sure we continue to preserve that and continue to make them better.”

Adelman told the crowd that he is their voice and he wants to hear from them.

“Even if you disagree with me. I’m not afraid to change my mind if I’m convinced. Bottom line, that is the type of leadership Coral Springs deserves and the type of leadership you will get if I’m lucky enough to be your commissioner.”

So far, Melissa Donnahoe, a Realtor in Coral Springs, has filed for the seat.
