Jessica James is a student leader at Coral Springs Charter School. As a captain of the Coral Springs Police Explorer Program, she helps lead explorers at city events.
During 2025 and 2026, James, a senior, earned third place in the Police Explorers‘ physical agility competition. She is secretary for the class of 2027 and is a vice president of the National Honor Society, where she coordinates the chapter’s partnership with Parkland Buddy Sports. She helped lead the Explorers at the city’s recent shred-a-thon.
“I love being a leader in the Explorers, and I want to attend Florida State University and become a crime scene investigator,” she said.
Izzy Goodman, a senior, is a sergeant in the Police Explorers and president of the Coral Springs Charter robotics club, a yearbook editor, a member of the golf team, and a member of the National Science Honor Society.
“My favorite academic subject is science, and I want to attend the Naval Academy and become a pilot,” she said.
The Coral Springs Police Explorer Program offers teens training, competition, hands-on experience, and opportunities to develop leadership skills. Members can assist the Coral Springs Police Department at city events, according to the city’s website.
