This summer, the Coral Springs Museum of Art continues to offer a vibrant array of cultural and artistic camps for young artists aged 5 to 18. These sessions promise an immersive experience of creativity, learning, and fun.
Cultural Camps for Ages 6.5 – 12
The Cultural Camps are designed to introduce students to the rich artistic traditions of various cultures. Each session provides a full-day program, during which campers rotate through three engaging classes.
The schedule includes drop-off between 8:45 pm and 9:15 am, Studio I from 9:30 to 11 am, a lunch break until noon, Studio II from 12 to 1:30 pm, and Studio III from 1:30 to 3 pm.
Parents can pick up their children between 3:00 pm and 3:15 pm. The final Friday of each session features a Family Art Exhibit from 2:30 pm to 3 pm, showcasing the children’s creations.
Cultural Camp Sessions:
- Cuba: June 24 – July 5 (there will be no camp on July 4). The cost is $400 for members and $450 for non-members.
- Germany: July 8 – July 19. $450 for members, $500 for non-members.
- Polynesia: July 22 – August 2. $450 for members, $500 for non-members.
Art Start for Ages 5-6
Art Start is perfect for young children. It provides a gentle introduction to art through story time, gallery visits, and hands-on activities.
Each session runs for three hours daily over two weeks, with projects varying each session. Art Start requires 5-year-olds to have attended kindergarten or VPK.
Art Start Sessions:
- Session 2: June 24 – July 5 (No camp on July 4). 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $200 for members, $225 for non-members.
- Session 3: July 8 – July 19. 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
- Session 4: July 22 – August 2. 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
Teen Summer Intensives
Teens can delve into specialized art forms through various intensive courses. Each session is designed to enhance specific artistic skills and creativity, with all supplies included.
Teen Intensives:
- Painting On The Move: June 24 – July 5 (No camp on July 4). 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $200 for members, $225 for non-members.
- 3D and Mixed Media: June 24 – July 5 (No camp on July 4). 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. $200 for members, $225 for non-members.
- Teen Painting and Drawing Studio: July 8 – July 19. 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
- Drawing Out & About: July 22 – August 2. 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
- Portfolio Development: July 22 – August 2. 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
- Teen Ceramics Studio: Various sessions from June 24 to August 2. Prices vary.
Mini Camps
Wrapping up the summer, the Mini Camps offer an intensive one-week program for ages 5-12. These camps are a great way to explore a variety of materials and techniques in a short period.
Mini Camp Schedule:
- Ages 5-6: August 5 – August 9. 9:00 am-12:00 pm. $100 for members, $125 for non-members.
- Ages 7-12: August 5 – August 9. 9:30 am-3:00 pm. $225 for members, $250 for non-members.
- Teen Art Studio: August 5 – August 9. 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. $100 for members, $125 for non-members.
