Starting Saturday, Broward County’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will close two lanes of traffic — center and right lanes — on both sides of the bridge over the West Outfall Drainage Canal on Atlantic Boulevard.
This closure is from September 18 – Thursday, September 23, and the project concludes in December 2021.
According to the City of Coral Springs, the project’s purpose is to perform structural reinforcement of the bridge deck, upgrade bridge approach guardrail and railing, install new bridge joints, waterproofing membrane, asphalt, and pavement markings, and upgrade sidewalks and curb ramps.
Most of the work will occur underneath the bridge and during off-peak traffic hours to minimize construction impacts to the nearby businesses and residents.
