{Coral Springs Police Department}
The Coral Springs Police Department is hitting the road this fall to recruit the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
Representatives from the department will attend several college and career fairs in September and October, giving prospective applicants an opportunity to learn about careers with the agency, including incentives for new and experienced officers.
The first stop will be the J.P. Taravella High School College and Career Fair on Sept. 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The department will then attend the Florida State University Career Fair on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by the Lynn University Internship Fair on Sept. 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Recruiters will also be at the Florida Atlantic University Career Fair on Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The final scheduled event is the Broward County College & Career Fair on Oct. 29. The fair will be open to high school students and student groups from 7:30 a.m. to noon and to the general public from 6 to 8 p.m.
According to the Coral Springs Police Department, recruiters will be available to discuss career opportunities and answer questions about joining the agency.
Among the incentives offered by the department is full sponsorship for qualified applicants while they attend the police academy. Certified law enforcement officers who join the department may also qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
