Khalfani Anthony Campbell {BSO}
A man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he attacked and strangled a man inside a public bathroom in Coral Springs.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department incident report, on May 6, officers responded to a reported stabbing in progress at 3111 North University Drive. Upon arrival, witnesses informed officers that the suspect, later identified as Khalfani Anthony Campbell, 30, of Miami Gardens, was being held on the seventh floor by good Samaritans who had heard the victim’s pleas for help.
When police located Campbell, he allegedly tried to flee, forcing officers to wrestle him to the ground.
The victim told detectives that Campbell attacked him inside a seventh-floor restroom of the office building. Investigators later found signs of a violent struggle, including a broken wall and stall divider.
The victim alleged Campbell strangled him, and as he attempted to flee, Campbell blocked the doorway, preventing him from escaping. Witnesses reported hearing the victim scream for help and then saw Campbell standing over him as the victim lay on the floor in fear.
Campbell was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He now faces felony battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and resisting an officer charges.
The report does not indicate whether Campbell and the victim knew each other.
