In their first game of the Sunshine State Explosion Tournament, the Coral Glades boys basketball team picked up a historic win over Coconut Creek High School Tuesday morning.
The Jaguars won 83-44, the most points the team had scored in a game since 2017 when they recorded 85 against Coconut Creek.
John Barbecho led the way with 18 points and had four steals. Pat Jean Louis added 16 and recorded five rebounds, while Avone Brooks dished out seven assists and had four steals.
Head Coach Nicolas Carr was pleased with the team’s second half and thought his group played with great intensity and energy to close out the victory.
For the Jaguars, this win snaps a five-game losing streak. In their season-opener, Coral Glades earned a 67-61 win over Hollywood Hills High School but lost their last five, including three games with less than ten points.
Next, the Jaguars will face an extremely tough challenge on Wednesday, December 29, when they play North Miami Senior High School at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Pioneers are 14-2 this year following their 60-47 win over Fort Lauderdale.
