Longtime Coral Springs resident and high school baseball coach Joe Franco reached a major milestone on Thursday night, earning his 250th career victory.
Franco’s journey began at Monarch High School, where he won 130 games. He later added 107 victories at Coral Glades High School before taking over at Boca Raton High School, where he secured the milestone with his 13th win for his new program.
The historic victory came in a 7-0 shutout over Somerset Academy Canyons. Following the game, Franco credited the many players and coaches he has worked with at Monarch, Coral Glades, and Boca Raton for helping shape his two-decade career.
“This accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without them,” Franco said. “I’m so blessed to have been around great kids and great Assistant coaches who I call friends for 20 years.”
In addition to his high school success, Franco also coaches the Coral Springs Clippers 12U team. He now looks ahead to adding a fifth district championship to his résumé, having previously won two titles at both Monarch and Coral Glades.
