Coral Springs High School boys basketball team’s remarkable season continued with their first-ever win in the Big-Eight Championship featuring the top teams in Broward County.
The Colts beat Blanche Ely, and Pembroke Pines Charter and South Plantation High School moved to 19-3 on the season. In the Championship Game, Matthew Curprew-Elsy had 21 points and 13 rebounds while Alex Pierre-Louis had 16 points and 5 assists
Head Coach Devin Barta says winning the BCAA Big-8 County Championship is not just a victory, but it’s a testament to the incredible dedication and heart of his players.
“At Coral Springs, we don’t just develop basketball players; we mold them into well-rounded individuals,” Barta said. “We’re more than a team. We’re a family. This win has given us the opportunity to showcase to Broward County how truly special our players and program are.”
CSHS will have a rematch against Blanche Ely High School in their next game on Monday, January 29, at 7:30 p.m. before closing the regular season on Senior Night against Coconut Creek High School.
