Coral Springs Charter Boys and Girls Swim Teams Open Season 3-0

The Coral Springs Charter swim team opened the season in dominant fashion, with both the boys and girls teams going 3-0 with victories over Pompano Beach, Plantation and Monarch High School.
The girls team was led by several strong individual and relay performances. Mariana Montes, Addison Palumbo, Jameela Rashad and Elanie Guy combined to win the 200-yard medley relay, while Samantha Mock, Lily Ugalde, Hayden Harty and Madi Springer finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Panthers added another relay victory in the 400-yard freestyle, with Adelyn Gardner, Guy, Rashad and Montes taking first place.
Guy also led the way individually, winning both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. Gardner earned a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, Palumbo won the 100-yard breaststroke and Mock finished first in the one-meter diving competition. She is sixth grade and became the first diver to compete for the Panthers.
The boys team matched that success with several victories of its own. Anthony Palumbo, John Albornoz, Brian Hamilton and Christopher Chaison won the 200-yard medley relay, while Palumbo teamed with Emmanuel Quintero, Matias Quintero and Ryan Robins to take first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Hamilton, Daniel Gil-Restrepo, Chaison and Albornoz completed the Panthers' relay success with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our team after an incredible first meet,” head coach Sheri Wells-Smith said. “This year is 11 years for me coaching and with our seniors and high school swimmers leading the way, we have talented young middle schoolers joining us including our 6th grade diver “Samantha Mock” competing for the first time.
”I love seeing that our CSC Swim and Dive team will continue growing, the future of our program is bright.”
