Coral Springs Charter Cheerleaders Lead With Spirit, Service and Academic Excellence

The Coral Springs Charter cheerleading team leads school spirit at games and on campus. Seniors on the team are also leaders in the classroom and community.

Sydney Leath, a senior, is vice president of the National Honor Society (NHS), has a 5.2 grade point average (GPA), and ranks in the top five percent of her class. She has been a Girl Scout in the USA for 13 years and is working toward the Gold Award. She is also a treasurer for Students Against Destructive Decisions. Leath is a member of the school’s soccer and track team.

“I enjoy studying history, and I would like to attend either Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University or Howard University,” she said.

Sarah Olivares is the yearbook editor and an active member of the drama club, where she serves as historian. She looks forward to performing in the club’s show, “Clue.” Olivares has a 3.9 GPA and is a class senator and leader in the Student Government Association (SGA). “I really enjoy laying out the pages of the yearbook and being active in the drama club,” she said.

Peyton Moser is a member of the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Explorer program and is a class senator and an SGA senator. She is also active in the NHS and has a 4.3 GPA. “My goal is to become a firefighter, and I love being a part of the Fire Explorers. I want to attend either the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida,” she said.

McKenzie Haire, the cheerleading coach, said she is proud of the team’s student leaders and believes they will continue to succeed.
