Coral Springs residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents during the city’s upcoming free Shred-A-Thon.
The Coral Springs Police Department, in partnership with Shred Monkeys, will hold the touchless event Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sportsplex, 2575 Sportsplex Drive.
The event is open only to Coral Springs residents. Participants must place their driver’s license on the front dashboard upon arrival.
Each vehicle may bring up to three file-size cardboard boxes or reusable bins. Residents may bring up to 3 additional boxes for a $5 donation per box, benefiting the Police Explorer Program.
Boxes and bins may not exceed 15 by 12 by 10 inches and must be placed in the trunk or another easily accessible area. Plastic and garbage bags will not be accepted.
Documents must be free of trash, binders, clamps and plastic or metal rings.
The event is first-come, first-served and may end early once the maximum capacity is reached. Inclement weather will result in the event being canceled and rescheduled.
