Athletic Director Michael Higgins officially announced Tuesday afternoon that he hired Chris Haire as the new Head Coach for the Coral Springs Charter football team.
This announcement comes only a day after former Head Coach Matt Garris announced he accepted a new job in Georgia at Westover High School.
“We are very excited to welcome Chris Haire to lead Coral Springs Charter football,” said Higgins. “Knowing Chris and his football background, I feel more than confident he will continue to take the Panther football program in the right direction.
Haire becomes the third head coach they have had since 2015.
No stranger to Coral Springs Charter, Haire was a former member of the coaching staff from 2015 -2020 before working at Cypress Bay High School as an offensive coordinator.
For Haire, this is his first head coaching opportunity. He could not be more thankful for Higgins, Principal Gary Springer, and the rest of the Coral Springs Charter community.
“It means a lot to me have this opportunity,” Haire said. “[It] came to me at the perfect time, and I cannot be happier to be coaching at Coral Springs Charter again.”
A resident of Tamarac, he also is a middle school math teacher and is familiar with the football program, hoping to continue building the Panthers into one of the better high school teams in the area.
CSC played well the past five seasons as they have won 22 of their last 44 games. One of those wins includes their first postseason victory since the realignment of the conferences last year.
Despite losing some talented players from the 2020 football team, CSC has many players returning who all gained a year of experience on varsity in the shortened season.
