Coral Springs Charter Football Falls 13-3 to Pine Crest After Resuming Suspended Game

The Coral Springs Charter football team officially resumed its suspended game against Pine Crest School on Monday, but the Panthers fell 13-3.

The game began on August 21 before thunderstorms forced a suspension, with Pine Crest leading 6-3. The Panthers returned to the field looking to erase the three-point deficit and quickly forced a stop.

After being stopped on third down on their ensuing possession, Coral Springs Charter kept the drive alive when Dash Waterman, who accounted for the Panthers’ only points with a field goal earlier in the game, picked up a first down on a fake punt. However, CSC was unable to capitalize, with Waterman later missing a field-goal attempt.

Pine Crest eventually took advantage of favorable field position. Following a long punt, the Panthers recovered a fumble deep in CSC territory, allowing Pine Crest to punch in the only touchdown of the game and extend its lead to 13-3.

Coral Springs Charter is now 0-3 and will return to action on Friday, September 4, when the Panthers face Forest Hill High School at 6:30 p.m. The Falcons opened the season with a loss to Olympic Heights Community High School before earning a forfeit victory over Coral Springs High School.
