A Coral Springs couple faces multiple felony charges after police accused them of using a senior woman’s credit card to make nearly $1,900 in unauthorized purchases.
According to Coral Springs Police Department arrest records, Juan Dominguez, 34, and Yamika Poulard, 30, were charged on September 17 with one count of grand theft from a person 65 or older, credit card fraud, organized scheme to defraud, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The alleged purchases occurred between July 29 and August 10 after the victim’s business credit card was compromised, according to arrest reports.
The victim told investigators the card had been used 26 times in Coral Springs. She initially identified seven unauthorized transactions totaling $1,894.95, the reports state.
Police allege Dominguez and Poulard used the card at a Metro by T-Mobile store in Coral Springs on July 29, then spent more than $500 on clothing at Kohl’s inside Coral Square Mall the following day.
Investigators said Poulard’s daughter accompanied the couple during the Kohl’s shopping trip. The card’s tap-to-pay feature was allegedly used through their phones to complete the purchases.
Surveillance footage showed the couple with shopping carts filled with clothing and later captured them inside an elevator, according to police.
They allegedly made additional purchases at Zumiez inside Coral Square Mall, a nearby 7-Eleven, and a Caribbean restaurant in Margate.
Police said surveillance footage from Kohl’s and 7-Eleven helped investigators identify the couple. Authorities also traced the card’s use to the neighborhood where Dominguez and Poulard lived.
Both Dominguez and Poulard were arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
