The City of Coral Springs will celebrate Independence Day with its annual Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, at Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive.
The free event will begin at 4 p.m., one hour earlier than in previous years, and conclude with a fireworks display scheduled for approximately 8:45 p.m., weather permitting.
“This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday,” Mayor Scott Brook said in a statement. “We expanded the event with additional entertainment, activities, and an extra hour of fun to make this year’s celebration bigger than ever.”
Live entertainment will feature performances by The Introverts, Should Have Been a Cowboy and headliner Absolute Bon Jovi on the main stage near Field 2.
The celebration will also include patriotic-themed contests, interactive activities and inflatable attractions in the Fun Zone on Field 6. Field 7 will feature artisan vendors, restrooms and a misting station.
Coral Springs residents can receive expedited access to the inflatable area by registering for Express Lane access at city check-in tents on Fields 3 and 6. Parents must present identification showing a valid Coral Springs address.
The city is encouraging families to pick up complimentary child safety wristbands at city tents upon arrival. Parents can write a contact number on the wristbands in case children become separated from their group.
Food trucks, snack vendors and beverage stations will be available throughout the park. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased and consumed only in designated areas.
Admission and parking are free, although parking is limited. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk if possible, or arrive early. Parking will be available at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts and the Coral Springs Gymnasium.
Road closures and traffic delays are expected during the event. Coral Springs Drive will close in both directions beginning at 6 p.m., and congestion is anticipated after the fireworks as attendees leave the park.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, picnic blankets, beach towels and coolers. Outside alcoholic beverages, personal fireworks, staked umbrellas, flag poles, and pets are prohibited.
Residents can receive event updates by texting the keyword “CSFIREWORKS” to 888-777.
