Coral Springs Family Welcomes Broward Health’s First Baby of 2026

Broward Health welcomed its first baby of the new year early Thursday morning with the birth of a healthy baby girl at Broward Health Medical Center.
Iris Derilus, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, was born at 7:26 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2026, hospital officials announced.
Iris is the second child of her parents, Fridline Merone and Berno Derilus, who live in Coral Springs. Hospital staff marked the occasion as the first delivery of the year at the medical center.
