Chief Brad Mock with the Coral Springs Police Department.
Police Chief Brad Mock Quarterly Message:
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday season. I would like to begin by sincerely thanking our community for its generosity during our annual holiday toy drive. Because of your support, nearly 1,000 underserved children in Coral Springs were able to have a brighter holiday. Check out the highlight from the Lions Park Toy Distribution.
If you gifted a family member a micromobility device this holiday season, please take a moment to review the City of Coral Springs ordinances and approved specifications for these devices. Understanding the rules helps keep everyone safe. Please note that micromobility devices are not permitted in city parks. For more information on the city ordinance regarding micromobility devices, watch this video. To learn about the specifications of devices allowed in the city, watch this video. Most importantly, make sure your children understand the rules and always wear a helmet. You should also research Florida State Statutes when purchasing a micromobility device or an E-Bike.
I’m proud to share some encouraging crime statistics. As of October 2025, we saw a 21% decrease in home burglaries, a 26% decrease in vehicle burglaries, and a 30% decrease in auto thefts compared to October 2024. You can help us maintain this positive trend by staying vigilant in your surroundings, locking your doors, and removing valuables and firearms from your vehicle.
As a reminder, school is back in session on January 6. Please be extra cautious in school zones throughout the city. Watch for pedestrians, stay off your phones, and remember to slow down to 15 MPH when a school zone is active.
As Spring Break approaches, we also want to remind residents to keep safety at the forefront of their minds. If you’re traveling, secure your home by locking doors and windows, setting alarms, and arranging for someone to collect mail and packages. Also consider signing up for our Vacation Watch program. For more information click here. For those staying local, supervise children closely, especially around pools and busy roadways. Teens should know where they’re going, who they’ll be with, and follow curfews. No matter your plans, avoid distractions while driving and never leave valuables unattended.
As we enter the new year, the Coral Springs Police Department will continue to uphold our values of service and professionalism, working every day to keep you and your loved ones safe. The partnership between CSPD and our residents is essential. If you see something suspicious, don’t wait to call us. Make a call, Make a difference! Our non-emergency number is 954-344-1800.
Stay safe.
