Coral Springs resident and LPGA teen sensation Lexi Thompson has chosen her prom date.
Back in April, Thompson posted a You Tube video inviting young servicemen between the ages of 18 and 20 to submit their stories for the chance to be her date at the Coral Glades High School Prom on May 18th.
After reviewing over 100 applications, Thompson chose Marine Lance Corporal Mark Scott, 20, a Wounded Warrior and Purple Heart recipient from Chicago who served in Afghanistan.
In her video, Thompson says, “The military has been a big part of my life and my family’s.” After Thompson won her first pro event, she donated $20,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, which is close to her heart.
Although Thompson is home-schooled due to her busy pro schedule, she and Scott will have to enjoy the event held at Coral Glades High School.
In addition to having the honor of taking Thompson to the prom, Scott will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Ft. Lauderdale and, of course, Coral Springs.
