Sam Douglas loves theater and acting. He is playing the role of Charlie in the upcoming Coral Springs High School Theatre Department play “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and directing the choreography.
“It has taken dedication and hard work to play a lead role. I have done research on the character of Charlie Brown and learned about the challenges he faced,” said Douglas.
As a student director, he has learned to motivate and lead cast members. “You need to have good chemistry among the cast members,” said Douglas.
Tristan Chung is playing Snoopy and is another student director. “I like to direct scenes, and I want to be a film director. To prepare, I have studied the Snoopy character,” he said.
Being part of the play has been a fun and positive experience for Angel Leal, a student director who plays Schroeder.
Barbara Krantz, the play’s director, is looking forward to the upcoming performance. She encourages the cast members to take on leadership roles by acting as student directors. The play will explore the challenges young people like Charlie Brown and his friends face as they grow up. She said the cast members are talented and dedicated to the show’s success.
