A Coral Springs man was arrested and charged with domestic battery following allegations that he choked his girlfriend unconscious during a dispute.
On October 1st, the Coral Springs Police Department responded to a residence near the 10100 block of Northwest 35th Street in response to a domestic disturbance report that reportedly included severe injury due to strangulation.
According to the report, officers arrived at the scene. They contacted the victim, who reported that she and her live-in boyfriend of three years, later identified as Shescal Jeudy, 33, of Coral Springs, had engaged in a heated argument over the bathroom trash that had turned physical.
According to the victim’s statement, tensions escalated, and Jeudy allegedly struck her on the side of her head. In self-defense, the victim said she retaliated by punching Jeudy in the chest.
The eventual arrest report shows that according to the victim’s account, Jeudy choked her around the neck for such a prolonged period that she lost consciousness for what she believed was at least five seconds.
According to medical records, the victim sustained a minor neck laceration during the altercation but refused medical attention at the scene.
Upon interview, Jeudy denied all allegations, claiming that the victim had woken him up early that morning and initiated the argument concerning the bathroom trash. Jeudy maintained that he had not engaged in any physical altercation.
Considering evidence provided by the victim, including physical markings, Jeudy was placed under arrest and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He was later released after posting a $2,500 bond.
