Javis Estate Wine {Jarvis}
By Martin Lenkowsky
There’s a special event coming to Coral Springs for fine food and exquisite wine connoisseurs, especially those partial to the finest cabernet grapes.
On Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., The Cook and The Cork, located at 9890 W. Sample Rd in Coral Springs, will be hosting its Jarvis Wine Dinner, featuring gourmet food and wines from Jarvis Estate, a legendary wine producer from California’s Napa Valley.
“This is our most special one,” said The Cook and The Cork co-owner and executive chef Keith Blauschild. “We’ve done other wine tastings before.”
Blauschild describes Jarvis Estate wines as one of those Napa Valley wines that go a step above, adding their wines are made from mountain fruit and their entire winery is in a cave.
Because their grapes are mountain-grown, he explains, they receive the morning’s warmest rays of sun and the coldest temperatures at night when they are harvested.
Two wines featured during the Jarvis Wine Dinner will be exclusive, high-priced cabernets: their Estate Cabernet, 2016 vintage, and the Reserve Cabernet, 2013 vintage.
“The 2013 vintage was a fantastic vintage for Napa Valley,” Blauschild said, adding, “This is like a $500 bottle of wine people can enjoy with their dinner.”
Tickets are $250 per person, plus gratuity and tax. With what’s being offered, “I think our dinner is a steal,” he said.
The five-course dinner menu includes Maine lobster and Wagyu Steak from the finest Japanese cattle.
