
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue {Aiden Palmer}
An 88-year-old Coral Springs man was killed in a vehicle crash last week, authorities said.
Joinvil Rodriguez was driving a red 2006 Nissan Sentra north near the 1200 block of Rock Island Road in North Lauderdale around 11:48 a.m. Oct. 16 when the Sentra veered left and struck a curbed grass median, continued over the median, and struck a palm tree, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene and rushed Rodriguez to HCA Florida Northwest Hospital, where emergency personnel pronounced him dead, authorities said.
According to investigators, the crash may have resulted from a medical event.
The investigation is ongoing, according to BSO.
