Coral Glades star golfer Biannca Gibbs continued her incredible season, winning first place at the BCAA Championship on Monday at the Country Club of Coral Springs.
Gibbs shot a 66 (-5) to lead all scorers and break the girls’ course record. She averaged a 32 in her last six rounds and ranked third in the state while recording 24 birdies this year. Head Coach Tim Deleeuw calls her the best player in Broward County and has an incredible story.
“She took a year off from golf to pursue academic goals in a top academic program in New York City and did a summer in a program at Harvard,” Deleeuw said. “She’s had an amazing season. However, the truth is, she still has her best season ahead of her.”
Shannon Glynn also posted an impressive 78 for the Jaguars. Carter Brooks placed third overall for the boys, shooting a 71. Justin Laing was second, followed by Sebastian Ortiz, Noah Rosen, and Bradley Pryor.
“He is hitting the ball with force and control, Delaw DeLeeuw. “It sounds like dynamite if you’re near it. He drove a par four to the green today, but it rolled out the side. He is going to be a great addition to a lucky team at the next level for sure.”
Natalie Conte led Coral Springs Charter with an 87, while Leah Costa and Isabella Goodman competed. These teams will next play at the District Championship on Tuesday, October 29, at the Country Club of Coral Springs.
