The Coral Springs Museum of Art is hosting “The Joy of Spoon Carving” workshop on May 6, 2023, with renowned woodcarver Ashley Look.
This unique craft experience is designed to help participants slow down and explore the tactile art of wood carving techniques to create their own functional art.
The workshop covers a range of topics, including wood selection, spoon design, finishing oils, knife and blade techniques, and carving methods. Participants will get to experience the joy of creating their own hand-carved kitchen tool. The class is $220 class plus a $20 supply fee that covers the cost of the wood. Carving tools will be provided, and no experience is necessary.
Ashley Look, a seasoned woodcarver, will lead the workshop and guide participants through the process of selecting the right wood for carving, designing and shaping their spoons, and finishing their creations with oils.

The workshop will take place at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, located at 2855A Coral Springs Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33065. The event will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm,
