A Coral Springs man was arrested after police say he carried out a prolonged harassment campaign against his neighbor that allegedly included vomiting on her doorstep and performing a Hitler salute toward her Ring camera.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department report, Spencer William Young, 28, was taken into custody on February 22 and charged with stalking and felony criminal mischief following an investigation into ongoing incidents reported by a woman living in the same Citation Way apartment complex.
Police say the victim contacted officers after enduring what investigators described as escalating harassment that served “no legitimate purpose” and caused her significant emotional distress.
The victim told officers that over the course of several weeks, Young repeatedly targeted her home despite the two having no contact or relationship. Surveillance footage from the woman’s Ring camera allegedly captured Young spitting on her door and camera, making obscene gestures, leaving trash outside her residence, and performing a Hitler salute directly toward the camera late at night on February 21.
Investigators said the harassment also included an incident in which Young allegedly vomited on the victim’s welcome mat, along with multiple acts of vandalism involving her vehicle. The victim reported scratches to her car and damage to a side mirror and rear spoiler, with repair costs estimated at approximately $2,500.
When officers arrived at the complex, Young reportedly admitted to several of the acts, including spitting on the woman’s doorbell camera and throwing up at her front door because he disliked that her camera faced his apartment. Police said he also admitted to scratching the victim’s vehicle.
The victim told investigators she became so fearful following the incidents that she temporarily left her home with her child to stay with a friend in Boca Raton.
After reviewing video evidence and interviewing both sides, officers arrested Young and transported him to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail.
