The City of Coral Springs will celebrate its 62nd birthday on Thursday, July 10, marking over six decades of growth, innovation, and a commitment to being a premier place to live, work, and raise a family.
To commemorate the milestone, the city is hosting a community celebration on Thursday, July 10, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Museum of Coral Springs History, located at 10250 NW 29 St.
The free event is open to residents of all ages and will feature interactive activities, historical exhibits, snacks and refreshments, and goodie bags for children. City Historian Cristina Fairhurst and members of the Historical Advisory Committee will be in attendance to share insights into Coral Springs’ rich past.
Commissioner Joe McHugh, liaison to the Historical Advisory Committee, said, “Our city’s birthday is one of many opportunities for our community to come together, reflect on our city’s unique history, and look ahead to what the future holds.”
Chartered on July 10, 1963, Coral Springs was developed after Coral Ridge Properties purchased land previously part of the Everglades wilderness. Since then, the city has continued to evolve while maintaining its focus on livability and strong community values. Milestones include the construction of the iconic Covered Bridge in 1964, the opening of the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, and the launch of Coral Square Mall.
No registration is required to attend the celebration. For more information, visit coralsprings.gov/history.
