Downtown Coral Springs is gearing up for a festive transformation this December as the city rolls out a lineup of holiday events designed to turn the community into a winter wonderland.
Downtown in December
Throughout the month, the City Hall Lawn at 9500 W. Sample Road will feature large-scale, interactive holiday light displays as part of “Downtown in December.” Beginning Dec. 6, the downtown Christmas tree will dazzle with twinkling lights choreographed to classic holiday songs every half hour starting at 5 p.m., offering visitors a photo-worthy experience all season long.
Light Up the Lawn
The celebrations kick off Saturday, Dec. 6, with the Light Up the Lawn Tree Lighting Ceremony from 5 to 9 p.m. Hosted in partnership with the Community Redevelopment Agency, the event includes the official tree lighting by the City Commission at 6 p.m.
Guests can enjoy holiday cookies, snow flurries, roaming entertainment, food trucks, and trackless train rides. Train rides are open to Coral Springs residents only, with limited space and required pre-registration.
Annual Holiday Parade
Festivities continue on Tuesday, Dec. 10, when the annual Holiday Parade returns to Sample Road from 7 to 9 p.m. Presented in partnership with Broward Health, this year’s theme, “Parade of Cultures,” will highlight the city’s diversity.
The Coral Springs Multi-Cultural Committee will serve as Grand Marshal, presented by Xfinity. Local schools and organizations will once again take part, and—as tradition holds—Santa and Mrs. Claus will close out the parade as they ride down Sample Road.
Deck the Halls: Festive Homes Tour
Holiday cheer will extend into the neighborhoods with “Deck the Halls: Festive Homes Tour.” Beginning Dec. 9, residents can access an online map to explore some of the city’s most elaborately decorated homes. Those wishing to showcase their own holiday displays may apply through the city’s website by Dec. 8.
