Angry over a break-up with her ex-boyfriend, a Coral Springs woman was arrested for aggravated battery and criminal mischief after trashing his vehicle then striking him with a hammer.
On March 9, Coral Springs Police responded to a domestic dispute call. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a man who said his ex-girlfriend, later identified as Beth Bruna, 22, had assaulted him and destroyed his property after the couple ended their relationship earlier in the day.
According to the report, the man said he had been dating Bruna since 2019, but the couple had decided to call it quits. The man said when he came home, he placed Bruna’s belongings outside on the ground. However, when she arrived, saw her items outside, she became irate and began vandalizing his car, including throwing eggs at it.
The man admitted to police to stop her attack; he was forced to strike Bruna with enough force to drop her to the ground. From there, the attack on his property stopped, but only briefly.
Shortly after, Bruna returned and began applying BBQ sauce and whipped cream to the victim’s car. She also cut his tires and started bashing the windshield with a hammer.
The victim told police that while trying to stop Bruna from continuing to hit his vehicle with the hammer, she struck him above his eye, causing a laceration that was so bad, medics would later need to use staples to close.
The report says witnesses told police the assault only stopped once Bruna’s sister confronted her and called the police.
After interviewing those involved and seeing the injuries to the mans’ face, police arrested Bruna. She was transported to the Broward County Mail Jail, where she later posted a $2,000 bond and was released.
