Crunch Fitness to Unveil State-of-the-Art 40,000-square-foot Fitness Facility in Coral Springs

A popular gym is adding a second Coral Springs location just in time to capitalize on all those New Year resolutions, just as another popular chain bids adieu to the same plaza.

CR Fitness Holdings, a franchisee of Crunch Fitness, has announced the upcoming opening of Crunch Coral Ridge.

The rapidly expanding cutting-edge workout center is set to call home the exact 5601 Coral Ridge Drive location within the Shoppes of Heron Lakes Plaza currently occupied by LA Fitness, who announced in November that it would close its doors on January 28 at 2:00 p.m.

The newest Crunch facility, which will span 40,000 square feet, is part of a more than five-million-dollar investment by CR Fitness. It will mark its second Crunch Fitness location in Coral Springs, the other at 910 North University Drive.

Headquartered in New York City, Crunch serves two million members with over 445 gyms worldwide in 37 states, the District of Columbia, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Spain.

According to recent Yelp reviews, the soon-to-close LA Fitness seems to have faced challenges that may have contributed to its closure. Disgruntled customers highlighted complaints about broken facilities, lack of maintenance, and hygiene concerns.

This past October, ‘Trevor P.’ left a scolding review, “The facility is terrible. Things that get broken don’t get fixed.” Philip J echoed similar sentiments, mentioning that sauna, whirlpool, and swimming pool issues persisted for over a year. At the same time, another review emphasized hygiene concerns, stating, “Went to this gym on this past Friday to find absolutely no sanitizers to wipe down equipment.”

In the announcement obtained by Coral Springs Talk, Crunch Coral Ridge says its newest Broward facility will offer a fresh take on the fitness experience with state-of-the-art amenities and impeccable service.

CR Fitness CEO Tony Scrimale said they were excited about sharing the unique experience of the Crunch brand with the residents surrounding our newest location in Coral Springs.

“We can’t wait to show you how we combine top-level equipment, world-class group fitness classes, and exceptional personal training – all at an unbeatable value,” Scrimale said in a press release.

Crunch Coral Ridge advertises itself as a fun-fitness option featuring a facility that offers an array of top-notch amenities, including Hot Yoga, a Ride Studio, Group Fitness Studio, HIITZone, saunas, tanning, and a diverse selection of state-of-the-art equipment.

The official opening date for Crunch Coral Ridge is yet to be announced; however, prospective members can visit crunchcoralridge.com to reserve memberships at discounted rates starting at $9.99 monthly, with $0 enrollment fees.
