Is Guy Fieri bringing his Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to Hellenic Republic in Coral Springs?
Our sources say he just might.
Sources shared that the famous Food Network show would be filming at the town’s favorite Greek spot on Wednesday, December 14.
We reached out to the restaurant for a comment, but the owner and chef, Nicol Zarbalas, said she “cannot confirm nor deny” the information at this time.
The restaurant’s Facebook page, however, indicates that the Hellenic Republic will be closed for a private event all day on Tuesday and Wednesday until 6 p.m. — just enough time for a filming crew to get the content for a 22-minute episode.
A Coral Springs resident for 18 years, Chef Zarbalas opened Hellenic Republic on The Walk in 2019, and the restaurant quickly became the locals’ go-to for traditional Greek cuisine. Their Chicken Souvlaki Pita remains one of the most popular dishes on the menu, which also features a Greek Burger, traditional dips, grilled octopus, and halloumi fries.
The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, now in its 36th season, is a popular food reality show hosted by renowned chef Guy Fieri. The show’s episodes showcase small, independent eateries and are usually unified by a theme: type of food, regional specialties, or ethnic cuisine.
The show previously showcased Los Bocados in Parkland, and since Fieri is now a Florida resident (he purchased a house in Lake Worth Beach earlier this year), it is fair to expect he might be filming more episodes of his show closer to home.
