Beloved for its authentic Greek cuisine, the Hellenic Republic is moving to a new, significantly larger location in Coral Springs.
The new restaurant, located west of University at 10436 W Atlantic Blvd., spans over 5,000 square feet—more than triple the size of the original 1,611-square-foot space at The Walk.
Chef and owner Nikol Zarbalas said the takeout and pickup service is expected to launch in three weeks, with full dining room service scheduled for summer 2025.
“We’re moving into the new location next week and installing all of our equipment,” she said. The expanded space will seat approximately 170 guests and features a repurposed farmhouse counter from the original restaurant, now rebuilt as a 30-person Chef’s Table. The table will also serve as the centerpiece for cooking classes geared toward both children and adults, along with monthly couples’ cooking sessions.

When not used for classes, the Chef’s Table will remain a focal point of the dining room, used for food prep, house-made desserts, and catering. The new location also includes a full liquor bar and a lounge area.
“We’re so excited to finally have the space we need to grow, expand the menu, offer new experiences, and create a comfortable, welcoming environment for our guests,” said Zarbalas.
A Coral Springs resident for 18 years, Zarbalas opened Hellenic Republic at The Walk in 2019. The restaurant quickly became a community favorite, known for its traditional Greek dishes, warm atmosphere, and a notable visit from Guy Fieri.
Leaving the original location, she said, was bittersweet. “We tried to make it work, but for various reasons, we outgrew the space and the location. It was time.”
Zarbalas added that Guy Fieri’s producer, whom she met during filming for Guy’s Grocery Games in Coral Springs and California, recently reached out about the new location. “Hopefully, we’ll get him back out here again.”
Despite the move, she emphasized the restaurant’s deep ties to the area. “We’re still very much part of the community. We raise our five children here, and the new location is just five minutes south of our former one. It gives us room to grow with our neighbors.”
The brand has also recently expanded into Miami, opening two micro locations at 6970 SW 40th St. One mirrors the Fort Lauderdale concept with international street food, while the other highlights the “Greek Street” section of the Hellenic Republic menu.
In addition, Zarbalas has partnered with Fort Lauderdale chefs Rino Cerbone, Larry Galper, and Chris Griffis to launch an underground-style Chef’s Supper Club, where all proceeds go to local charities. The first event, MotleyFood, will take place April 28 at Heritage in Fort Lauderdale.
“It’s amazing to use our talents to give back,” she said. “Anyone who knows me or anything about Hellenic Republic knows this is what it’s all about.”
As for future television appearances, Zarbalas said her current focus is on reopening the Coral Springs location and continuing her mission to provide free meals to those experiencing food insecurity – no questions asked.
“I’m also working on finishing my cookbook and getting back to Coral Springs, where my home and my heart truly are,” she shared.
