Eddie Griffin live. Warning language.
By Bryan Boggiano
Comedian Eddie Griffin is coming to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Feb. 26.
Griffin began his career in comedy as a dare in 1989 and earned a standing ovation with family stories. He talked his way into stand-up gigs around town and in L.A. One popular bit was his gay version of tough-guy comic Andrew Dice Clay, who later hired Griffin to open for him.
In 2004, Comedy Central ranked him 62nd on their 100 greatest stand-up comedians list. Since then, he has lived at the SAHARA Las Vegas and hosted specials such as “You Can Tell ‘Em I Said It and Undeniable.”
From comedy, Griffin branched into film. He appeared in Armageddon, Foolish, John Q, A Star is Born, and Scary Movie 3.
But his career accomplishments do not end there.
He appeared on albums with Snoop Dogg Dr. Dre. He also made appearances in the music videos for Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice,” Puff Daddy and Mase’s “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down,” and Mariah Carey’s “Honey.”
The center opened tickets to the public for the Saturday, Feb. 26 show. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the office or online at The Center’s website or Griffin’s website.
The show also features Christopher Prester and Carl Rimi.
