Felicita’s Coffee Soul, a chain with locations in Miami, expanded its presence further north when it opened two locations in Coral Springs. The cafe has a full breakfast and lunch menu featuring Argentinian food.
Estafania Carnila, a barista at the newest Felicita’s on University, said the shop is proud to sell its own brand of coffee and other to-go cafe products.
“If you like a mix of French and Spanish flavors, then you’ll love Argentinian food,” she said.
Carnila also recommended coffee flavored with almond to cut through the sweetness of the dulce de leche on the menu. She rang a customer out, giving them a complimentary TITA — a popular cookie in South America.
One of the shop owners, Matias Tenagcia, told customers enjoying lunch Wednesday, he and his uncle are from Buenos Aires.
“We live in Aventura and opened two months ago — our other location is the former Nordic Bakery,” said Matias, a 25-year-old college student who said he is learning English.

He added his uncle, Stefan Tenagcia, is the main owner, and together they manage both the Felicita’s in the Coral Square Plaza on University and Sample Road location.
The menu has a big pastry section, featuring several types of croissants, muffins, cookies, and empanadas that flow into a diverse lunch section with Cuban offerings and Argentinian.
The coffee section of the menu contains cappuccinos, lattes, espresso, and cortado, the latter of which is a drink from Portugal and Spain, containing half espresso, half milk to cut the acidity.
A diner named Mike Jessup said he and his father discovered Felicita’s since they go to a hair salon in Coral Square Plaza.
“If you like Argentinian food, this place is amazing. I wish we had something like it where we live in Coconut Creek,” said Mike.
Felicita’s Coffee Soul is located at 921 University Drive and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday. The second Coral Springs location is at 11418 W Sample Road.
