Camden Hulse is a top student at Coral Springs High School.
Hulse graduated number one in his class of 497 with a 5.5 grade point average and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Broward College with the highest honors.
This fall, he will attend the University of Florida and study electrical engineering.
"I have worked hard in school because I want to be successful. I believe I can be successful if I study electrical engineering," said Hulse.
He has achieved success that most talented academics don't see until graduate school. Hulse's mathematical research paper on a new mathematical series, "The composite function series," was published in the University of New South Wales Parabola journal. He has also completed another research article under review for an academic journal.
"I enjoy studying mathematics, especially advanced calculus, and I am determined," said Hulse.
For Hulse, life is not entirely about academics. He was a four-year member of the Coral Springs High School soccer team and a kicker on the football team. He also played on the lacrosse team and was the school's chess club president.
His father, Randall Hulse, has coached him in soccer at Coral Springs. "He has worked hard as a student and an athlete, and I am proud of him," he said.
