Woman Accused of Pointing Gun During Road Rage Apprehended at Starbucks

A Pompano Beach woman was arrested after Coral Springs Police say she pointed a loaded handgun at another driver during a road-rage confrontation on West Sample Road.

According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Sarah Catherine Browning, 30, was arrested on August 19 and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm stemming from a road rage incident that began near the 6200 block of West Sample Road near Turtle Creek Drive.

Records show Browning moved in front of the victim’s vehicle and “brake checked” her. The victim told investigators she moved into the far-right lane and stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Sample Road and Turtle Creek Drive. Police said Browning then pulled alongside her vehicle and allegedly pointed a firearm at her.

The victim called 911 and continued providing police with Browning’s location as she traveled westbound on Sample Road,

A Coral Springs officer waiting at the intersection of Sample Road and University Drive spotted the vehicle matching the description and followed it as it turned north onto University Drive and then east onto Brokenwoods Drive.

According to police, Browning began turning into the Starbucks parking lot at 3451 North University Drive when the officer initiated a felony traffic stop.

Browning exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. Police subsequently searched her car and found a loaded handgun inside.

Browning was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
