Although the high school football season is still a few months away, several teams wrapped up their spring practices with exhibition games.
Coral Glades impressed during their win against Hollywood Hills and North Miami Beach High School. Entering year three with coach Rocco Casullo, the Jaguars had one win in 2023 and three in 2024. They head into the season with a much more experienced group and open their season against Cooper City High School on August 22.
The Jaguars will play South Plantation, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and Nova High School at home while playing Coral Springs High School, Stranahan, Hallandale, Spanish River, and J.P. Taravella on the road.
J.P. Taravella faced Marjory Stoneman Douglas in their spring game, losing 21-0. They are looking to bounce back after four tough seasons. After winning five games in 2019, the Trojans have only three victories since and lost all 10 games a season ago. They head into the fall season with a new coach, Ed Therrimann, and will face a similar schedule to theirs in 2024.
Coral Springs Charter played against Gateway Charter and went 4-6 a season ago. Their wins came against Pompano Beach, Northeast, J.P. Taravella, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
They will open their season with a home game against Heritage Delray and host Pines Charter, Pompano Beach, Northeast, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Their road games will be against NSU University, Ramson Everglades, J.P. Taravella, Pinecrest, and North Broward Prep.
Coral Springs High School played against Somerset Prep and Northeast High School after going 1-8 a season ago. Their lone win came against Hollywood Hills High School in their second game after winning five games in 2023.
The Colts will open their season with a game against Westminster Christian High School. They will also face Nova, Coral Glades, South Plantation, Piper, Cypress Bay, Monarch, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Fort Lauderdale, and J.P. Taravella this upcoming season.
