{City of Coral Springs}
The City of Coral Springs is inviting residents and business owners to take an active role in shaping the community through the launch of three new committees: the Accessibility Advisory Group, Veterans Committee, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
City officials said the new groups are designed to foster civic involvement, strengthen advocacy, and advance the city’s strategic goals, while also giving participants the chance to make a direct impact on local issues.
Accessibility Advisory Group
The Accessibility Advisory Group will advise the city on accessibility needs and promote inclusion through education, advocacy, and collaboration. Open to residents, business representatives, educators, caregivers, and accessibility advocates, the group will consist of up to 30 members. It will meet bi-monthly during its first six months, then quarterly. The introductory meeting is set for Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. at City Hall in the Sawgrass Room.
For more information or to participate, residents can contact Yuu Soubra at ysoubra@coralsprings.gov.
Veterans Committee
The Veterans Committee was established to honor, support, and advocate for the well-being of local veterans. The group will include 12 veterans or active service members and three community members or business owners connected to veteran services. Meetings will be held every other month, beginning with an informational session on Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Veterans Hall.
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will work closely with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to ensure Coral Springs continues developing high-quality parks, programs, and facilities. The nine-member board will represent a variety of sectors, including schools, sports, conservation, veterans, and senior communities.
How to Get Involved
Coral Springs encourages residents and business members to apply for these new opportunities. All participants must meet the city’s guidelines for boards, committees, and groups.
