Healing Hearts Foundation Hold ‘Angel Walk of Remembrance’ November 10

Those suffering from loss can honor their loved ones during a special day filled with faith, love, and hope.

On November 10, The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation will have its 9th Annual Walk for an Angel at Quiet Waters Park. The “Love is all you need” themed 5K is open to everyone to honor any loved one that has left this world.

Healing Hearts is a nonprofit organization started by Bob Resciniti, who lost his 21-year old son, Bobby, in a car accident in 2006. Bobby was a student at Palm Beach Community College where he was majoring in criminology and was working as a pharmacy technician at Publix. Resciniti, a retired Publix district manager of 37 years, said he started the foundation after his family struggled with the relentless pain, and wanted to reach out and help others.

Healing Hearts Foundation Hold 'Angel Walk of Remembrance' November 10 In 2007, the Resciniti family opened Bobby’s Place on Sample Road and Coral Ridge Drive in Coral Springs. It’s a safe haven where parents can go for support, compassion, and the help they need to begin the healing process.

Bobby’s Place provides licensed counselors, group counseling, sibling groups, one-on-one sessions, workshops, healing yoga — and everything is free.

Christine Graham has been visiting Bobby’s Place for two years since she lost her 16-year-old son, Matthew, a sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She said Bobby’s Place had grown tremendously since the school shooting on February 14, 2018, and what keeps her going is helping the other parents.

“Healing Hearts is my second family,” said Graham, who grew up in Coral Springs. She said the organization, founded on love, gave her hope and is helping her through this journey that will never end.

During the Angel Walk, signs of remembrance, available for a $25 donation, will surround the lake at Quiet Waters Park. Although the main focus of Bobby’s Place is child and sibling loss, this particular event is for all loss: parents, relatives, friends — even fur babies, said Graham.

In addition to the 5K, Healing Hearts has recently partnered with Shine MSD, who will give a special performance at the event.

Also at the event, there will be pet adoptions, and Resciniti said he will cover the adoption fee. Attendees can spend time with comfort ponies, meet grief guru Mitch Carmody, participate in a silent auction, and purchase raffles as well as lunch from the onsite food trucks.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., followed by the walk at 11:30 a.m., rain or shine. The cost is $10 per walker and $1.50 per person park entry fee for adults and children over 5.
