J.P. Taravella girls lacrosse team picked up their first victory of the new season on Tuesday.
Sophia Casseus scored her first career goal in the Trojan’s 8-2 win over Coral Glades High School.
“I am looking for many more from her,” said Head Coach Magan Letizia. “Glades has speed and made us work for each goal we scored. They are a good up-and-coming team.”
JPT fell in their opening game against West Boca Raton Community High School, which snapped their streak of four straight victories to open the season. The Trojans currently have a record of 1-2 after falling to St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Wednesday, the same team they lost to in the postseason last year after going 9-3.
Next, JPT will play North Broward Prep on Thursday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. This year, the Eagles are 2–1 with wins over Ramson Everglades and Cooper City High School.
