It is a new start for the J.P. Taravella girls soccer team.
Head Coach Alex Palmaz is set to take over for Kathy Fitzgerald, the Trojans coach since 2014.
“I was thrilled to get the honor of coaching at Taravella,” said Coach Palmaz. “Coaching at the high school level has been a goal of mine for many years.”
A Tamarac resident, Coach Palmaz was a former competitive soccer player and coach for the last ten years. Previously, he was with a Tamarac recreational league when he heard about the opening at JPT.
His team is getting ready to start practicing and will have their first game on December 13 against Deerfield Beach High School.
Following that, the Trojans have exciting games this season against Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Coral Springs Charter, South Plantation, and Plantation High School in January.
