J.P. Taravella High School is preparing to welcome its newest students with a western-themed freshman orientation designed to help the Class of 2030 begin high school with confidence.
The “Wild Wild Trojans” orientation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at J.P. Taravella High School, 10600 Riverside Dr.
Parents are also invited to attend a Parent Academy from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. during the event.
The program is open to incoming ninth-grade students and is intended to introduce them to campus life before the first day of school. Students will have the opportunity to meet classmates, learn their way around campus and participate in activities designed to ease the transition into high school.
The $20 registration fee includes a Class of 2030 T-shirt, a scavenger hunt, lunch and other orientation activities. Register here.
The event comes just days before Broward County Public Schools students return for the 2026-27 school year on Aug. 10.
