A free Juneteenth block party will set the stage for a night of laughs when actor and comedian Marlon Wayans headlines the city’s celebration on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., residents can gather outside the Coral Springs Center for the Arts for an evening of music, dance, and spoken word. A live DJ will keep the crowd moving while members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority deliver a step performance and poet Tenille Brown shares original work honoring Black history and resilience.
Families can also enjoy kids’ activities, complimentary samples from local Black-owned restaurants, and free admission to the Coral Springs Museum of Art. The festivities are presented by the City of Coral Springs with support from Baptist Health and Xfinity.
When the celebration winds down, Wayans will take the indoor stage at 8:00 p.m. The bestselling comic’s most recent special, Good Grief, debuted at No. 1 on Amazon Prime Video in June 2024, joining a string of chart-topping shows that include Woke-ish on Netflix and God Loves Me on Max. His films have earned more than $1 billion at the domestic box office, and later this year he stars in the psychological thriller Him from Universal Pictures and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions.
Wayans is best known on screen for the 2004 hit White Chicks, the Scary Movie franchise, and roles in Requiem for a Dream, Air and dozens of other films. On television, he co-created and starred in The Wayans Bros. for The WB, appeared on In Living Color, and led NBC’s family sitcom Marlon.
Admission to the outdoor Juneteenth program is free and open to the public. Tickets are required for the stand-up show and start at $56.27. Visit the Coral Springs Center for the Arts website for availability.
