Coral Springs Talk reporter David Russell interviews Comedienne Leanne Morgan before she heads to town on her “Big Panty” tour.
By David Russell:
Building her comedy on family stories and Southern charm, comedian Leanne Morgan temporarily leaves her cave in Appalachia to perform at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on October 15, 2022, at 7 p.m.
One of the few energetic grandma comedians touring across the states, Leanne Morgan has humble beginnings in a small 500-person farming town in middle Tennessee outside of Nashville. Blowing up at 53, Morgan is now 80 trips into her 100-stop Big Panty Tour.
Twenty-two years and three children later, her comedy career continues to rise.
“Now that I’ve done this all these years, my favorite part of performing is connecting with the audience. I adore them, and we love to share recipes!” said Leanne.
Jokes about trips from the road and hilarious anecdotes are strewn throughout her comedy sets. Clean enough for most, she draws inspiration from her real-life family experience.
“Middle school for my kids was a dry time; no one wanted me to speak about them, they just rolled their eyes, but now they just accept it,” said Leanne.
Ready for the South Florida heat, Leanne is excited about the opportunity to lose weight in the humidity and provide a little spark of joy for those in need.
Tickets are $31.83 – $53.23 and can be purchased online at The Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
